Handmade Stick Pins

We crafters buy so many embellishments and they are sooooo costly. Stick pins are one of them. I thought why not make some myself and I came up with some matching stick pins for my projects. See what I made with some beads and wire :-)

Binder Clip Photo Stands

I have been gifting a lot of handmade things to friends but it’s been a while since I made anything for hubby. When I saw binder clip photo stand on lulupu.com today, made by Snehal, I thought I can make one for hubby. Then I could find lots of similar videos on youtube.

See what I came up with…

image

Photo will go where pink heart is.

Isn’t it totally awesome?! Hubby totally loved it.

Materials I used:

2″binder clip
Patterned paper for base
Plain papers for flower, leaves and tags
Scallop punch – ek success
Flower and leaf punches
Butterfly stamp (have no clue which brand, it’s a wood mounted stamp I found in my stash)
Coffee and black colour inkpads
Twine
A button
PVA glue

That’s all I guess :-)

Ciao,

~Sakhi

Update:

I made another one in the morning…

Hubby grabbed this one too… :D

Wreck This Journal: My Version

I saw this super cool journal online: “Wreck This Journal” by Keri Smith. I liked it so much that I wanted it but did not want to buy it, instead I went ahead and made one for myself and a friend. Have a look…

image

I started with this ordinary notebook from Classmate with plain pages

image

I decoupaged the front and the back cover pages with the pieces of newspaper (arrow is to show decoupage)

image

I painted even the inner cover pages (back and front) with acrylic colours (arrow to show the painted page)

image

These are just the sample pages of the journal. I have used some of the ideas from the original journal but I din’t like a lot of them too. So came up with my own version. It was tough to do that but was fun too :)

image

This is the back cover page, decoupaged :) And even though this journal was suppose to be for me and a friend, I couldn’t help but put my trademark there. Looks so professional, hun?? ;)

It took me almost a week to complete both these journals. I posted one to my friend today morning. Hope she likes it. I will have to make one for myself again since Cub liked mine so much that she flicked it away… :D

Hope both the girls enjoy journalling and let themselves free with imagination.

Ciao…

Colour Splash Birthday Card

Another birthday card made this weekend. This one is for a pre-teen girl who loves colours. This time I used some bright crepe papers and foam sheet apart from standard card-stock, stamp and inks. Have a look…

Entering it to BCG #13

It has finally arrived…

For a while now I wanted to have a scoreboard of good quality. I came across a good deal on RUCRAFT where I could get “Crafter’s Companion” scoreboard AND an enveloper too. It arrived today from UK… Yay…

Have a look…

image

It came packed well (I was a little apprehensive) and this is how the products look. These surely are going to reduce a of trouble for me when I craft.

Cool, hun?! I am quite happy… :)
